Some Favourite Greyscale Images

I love black and white images, it reminds me of yesteryear, of the infancy of photography and its photojournalism quality.

  1. Amy

Amy was my first shoot for 2021. This was her first shoot ever and there was this moment we didn’t plan for in a windy side alley, I took a quick snap and it looked *insert jazz hands* FABULOUS.

2. Brad

Another first time photoshoot, Brad was incredible to work with. I like this photo for its relaxed posture and the natural window light.

3. Grace

Being more comfortable near the ocean, this urban photoshoot pushed Surfer Grace to try something new. I threw her a few curveballs with some complex poses, in the middle of one she cracked up laughing as we all realised how awkward it was to be doing this shoot on a busy bridge in the middle of Brisbane. I took this image in all it’s happy awkwardness.

4. Sharne

Fitness Coach Sharne sure knows how to look boss. I like the pairing of the confident pose against the urban slate backdrop, it makes for a strong and aspirational image.

5. Annabelle

Annabelle and I were very clear on the vibe of photos we were going for - a feeling that this was shot lazily around the house on a chill afternoon. This direction made it really easy for us to work together and we came out with some stunning images. This was also Annabelle’s first photoshoot, in all honesty, I think this shot belongs in a fashion magazine.

6. DSTUTZ

Tahlia (model), Hong Le (MUA) and Alex (Brand Owner) were fabulous to work with in this shoot for a seasonal collection for DSTUTZ brand. We all crammed into the front living room of where I was living at the time to make it happen as we had a double booking with studio space. We made it work and the results were rewarding.

6. Lily

I like the simplicity of the subject against the business of the textured background. It feels like something shot in the early 90’s, in its quality and structure. It’s slight motion blur also assists in it’s film-ic vibe.

8. Luca

Super easy to work with, Luca made it look like he was a casual skater in the city. Again, I think there’s a 90’s quality here.

9. Luke

Fitness Coach Luke needed some epic looking portraits for his Instagram. The light on this afternoon river shoot was perfect.

10. Lauren

After a long day shooting with multiple clients, it was the last shoot and the last look of the day and Lauren pulled this (to me) surprise hair and makeup look, it was stunning to shoot in studio and she nailed this portrait shoot.
